Dreams, swords, games &c.
Damn I had an odd dream last night. Well, not exactly odd. I think it was almost normal, comparitively speaking from previous dreams I’ve had/related on this site. Basically it was bog standard Walking Dead-style zombie apocalypse but the survivor enclave I ended up in sent me out exploring with a horse, a manual camera (Brownie, Kodak Automatic, etc) and two saddlebags full of what amounted to newspapers. One for places I found with no survivors that I’d tack up to telephone poles and so forth kind of laying out what we were about and where we were, and another type for people I found that would do the same but with more detail. Pretty much trying to put civilization back together one survivor city at a time. That and using the 1900’s era camera to record everything I could incase there wasn’t anything to find and we ended up witnessing the end of civilization.
Yes, both my city and myself were heavily armed. We wouldn’t just sit there unprotected and lead people right to our doorstep.
Did I mention that kendo rocks? As it does, and so I think I’ve found my new martial art. Yesterday was “Take your shinai to work day” and I think today may follow in its footsteps. Turns out that though my house’s cieling is too low and the front/back yards are uncomfortable for various reasons, the gym at work is perfect. That and I can finally get some more weight training on without having to buy more weights or find a place for a bench.
The only problem is I’ll have to come up with a kickass battle cry for my shinkai. Somebody should go hit some quiz making site and do up a “What would your shinkai battle cry be?” I’m feeling lazy, and that’s a dynamite idea. This comes up because apparently my school is thinking about switching from the old “Wear some sweatpants” uniform to an actual Hamaka & jacket getup and well, sensei is thinking black.
We all know where black kendo uniforms lead.
I’ve started playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night again recently. Damn I love that game. It has to be one of the finest (if not the finest) level-less platformers known to man. The knockback effect is a bit annoying, but the game is still as on top of everything a decade later as it was when it was fresh. Next I play Vagrant Story aka the biggest candidate for a rockin’ remake ever. Well, remake like Resident Evil for the GC not like Dukes of Hazzard.
Jessica Simpson as Merlose… Shudder.
