New N1

So yeah, Nippon Ichi came out with some stuff about a new game called Phantom Kingdom. It seems to be a hybrid of Disgaea and Phantom Brave taking place in a Demon World with a Demon King as its main character, but with Confining. And there’s the Invite Spell which looks cool. You summon a whole building fulla troops. That’s pretty cool, really.

The only fly in the ointment seems to be that it is all random dungeons. Not that I mind, really, but I did like the plot stuff. Oh well, mayhaps that will change.

The art looks kickass though.

So, anybody up for hamburgers? I’m thinking about employing the household George Foreman to make some sort of burgery substance. There may be Ju-on as well. I’m thinking Tuesday, let me know if anybody’s free Tuesday night. I’ll spend some time cleaning the place up and we can see how far I get.

Who am I kidding? It’ll all end up being a let’s get food at the grocery store evening, but it is nice to dream right? Or we could just get together and watch Infernal Affairs and Ju-on.

And I am still working on that UA character. He’s just not cooperating. I’m almost thinking that I don’t want to be a wizard. I don’t think I ever got a responce when I asked if the assault weapons ban was lifted in UA. I mean murder is still illegal and concealed carry would be really difficult to explain, but ownership might not be too much to ask. You know… just in case.

Rockin’

So yeah. It feels good to get back to posting. I mean really good. It is bizarrely relaxing, to tell you the truth. I’m still playing Phantom Brave, but I just take about 30 minutes out to type some of this stuff up. Anybody reading? I’d love to see if comments work for real people. They apparently don’t for spammers (thank God).

I almost hate to post more, I love watching that monk girl kick her little heart out. I may have to find some place to put her on the page.

I’m working on some more stuff as well with the webpage. Little 16×16 icons to replace the little “” in the corner there. Stuff like that sort of thing. Nothing major really.

That damn notebook just won’t take Linux. It dies before the install even starts, on the autodiscovery and startup of the USB support. Don’t know why, I mean it actually took Linux a few months ago. Mayhaps it is the fact that the drive is already partitioned? That’s all I can think of. Other than that I may try Fedora or a newer version of Red Hat. Don’t really know what to do, but I could always throw the damn thing away. Its no big deal.

I’m off though, to see “The Incredibles.” I’ll tell you how it goes.

Damn I need to get back to that…

I swear, I take six months off of something and then suddenly they are all swarming with awesome stuff. I’ll have to hide this from Kristi, because if she sees “Sniper” then it’s all over for the librarian masters thing. What am I talking about? Why iRO Level 3 jobs of course. Blasted game people. Whenever you think you’ve gotten out they just pull you right back in. The new assassin looks sweet, as does the Champion. Those two were no-brainers though, so nobody should be surprised. The Stalker might be cool too. And therein lies my problem. My characters were an attacking Acolyte and a spearwielding Fighter. The Aco would become a Monk (then Champ) and the spearwielder would go Knight. Then there’s that third slot. Do I go Assassin or Rogue? The actual assassin blows, it is pitiful how nerfed the damn things are. I mean you hardly ever saw one in play because they had no point after a few well-meaning “revisions.” I imagine that the Assassin Cross would go the same way though, so mayhaps it would be Stalker time.

Getting to Level 99 would have to be quite a bit of work though, especially with no guilds and a strong difficulty finding people to party with. I can only hope the skills for 3rd levels are killer. ’cause otherwise I don’t think I could live with myself.

On the other hand, once you got to level 99 and all that, then what challenge is there left? I mean do you break down a la Alexander the Great and weep because no un-conquered worlds exist?

On the homefront, I am working on turning the Craptop into a Linux-based digital picture frame. Only time will tell if the Minimum Install of Red Hat is minimum enough.

Geez, where is that girl? She’s supposed to be here soon and damn but I’m hungry. Turns out she was going to her house. Oh well, free Chinese food is always good.

I v0tz0red!

Hell yes I voted. Went and got in line before the polls openned and cast my fancy-schmancy new electronic ballot. I had to change my address (thank you very much DMV) so I had to go down to the Richland County Admin office and vote there. I was really early in line so I was in, out, and done before too long. I think it took 30-45 minutes. I can’t believe the turnout, it was really incredible. I mean compared to the apathy of the last two elections I participated in (geez, two? What kind of fossil am I?) it is pretty awesome.

I look on voting as a big ol’ “eff you” to every single king through all of history. Just a thumb in the eye of everyone who ever stood up and said “I get to tell you what to do because I’m special and better than you.”

Then I went and bought a book about turning computers bought at auction and old crappy laptops into PVRs and answering machines. It looks interesting and should almost completely automate the switchover to Linux on my fileserver and my media center box. All that with the bonus of adding multi-mailbox answering machine capability to my phones. Now to get Vonage and be all suave.

OK, and there were some missteps when I updated to 3.121. Firstly, I didn’t upload the mt.js so all the buttons on the backend here didn’t work (no comments could be deleted). Then I didn’t update my mt.cfg so I couldn’t do the loadbackgroundtasks entry and get my comments to increment. Then I didn’t update mt-blacklist to a version compatible with mt 3.1x. That last bit stopped anyone who wasn’t registered from posting comments at all. Yeah, I fixed all that so comments are once again enabled. I know you spammers are all chomping at the bit to get at those juicy juicy comments.

I’m sure I send a lot of people over to the “rape mpgs” site.

Now I’ve really screwed my Google hits up. I perhaps I should think about if I should put this page on my nacent bidness (sic) cards.

Hey Chatty, if you read this webpage still (and why, with the months of inactivity and missing your birthday would you?) do you still have a page somewhere?
