Yikes, again!

So yeah. Final Fantasy X stole my soul. Just got the Cloudy Mirror and I’m working on Legendary Weapons and Anima. I’ll try to keep posting up, but you never know.

Oh, and my girl is giving me the “why the hell aren’t we eating dinner” look so I think I’ve got to go eat dinner. More posting later.

Everything restored

There, now my cable, internet and phone situtions mentioned in my last post have been taken care of. I’ve got a new cordless phone that people can leave messages on (if they want to) and my cable is back to 100%. See, when it was fixed last time, it wasn’t fully fixed, the cable guy did some slight of hand and hooked me up in the short term, but my shit fell apart a day later. I was down for a Low Signal complaint, and both Chris and Jason know that a work order like that means that I’d be better off climbing the pole and fixing the damn thing myself. It was scheduled for July 15th, but was just fixed this weekend.

Oh, and in addition to the physical impossibity of posting, I fear I may be depressed. Not capital D, its nothing chemical or anything like that, I’m just a bit emotionally out of sorts. Its been this way for a while though, so if anybody has noticed a gradual increase in my snappishness and moodiness I think this is the cause. So far I’m trying a biological solution (betting that this is a too-much-time-inside-and-sedentary version of Seasonal Affective whatnot [which I still belive is a crock of crap, but there may be something to the brain chemistry angle]) So more working out, more spending time outside, and more talking to real people. Basically the first two I can handle on my own, the third basically means “more D&D.”

Sorry about bailing on you guys a few Mondays ago, it was just a case of spending 48 solid hours with you cats and none with my woman. She did buy me a sword and all. Speaking of swords, that should be arriving in 10 days. Interesting story behind that, I may even tell it tomorrow.

And next time: thoughts on Firefly and 24, and the story of the sword that’s taking its sweet time. And mayhaps thoughts on a possible familiar for my rogue (if and when he decides to grab some levels in Mage)

Aft thrusters have taken a direct hit!

Yeah, odd title. I’m feeling a bit whimsical though, so there you go. I haven’t posted in a while, but there’s been good reason. On Sunday last I lost cable, phone and water during a particularly bad storm. I was also unable to purchase “Bleach” (the manga, not the cleaning agent) but that was fixed second. First the water resolved itself. It seems that somehow the local water table overflowed into my city water and rendered it a wonderful shade of brown. Just the thing you want to see when you turn on your shower, let me tell you. That worked itself out though, the others needed some seeing to.

I bought “Bleach” the next day for want of something to do, and it is awesome. It is currently in the capable care of my girl, so I may be able to lend it this weekend, maybe not. Regardless it is incredible. Just fun stuff. If you want a sample of the guy’s work, go to Toriyama World and download their full series torrent of Zombie Powder. Or I could burn a CD for people with the full run of ZP onboard.

The phone was fixed next. It took until today (Thursday), three service calls and umpteen thousand support calls. They closed the first call from the office “no problem found” sort of thing on Tuesday, then the same on Wednesday. They told me a tech came out, but with no dial tone on the test jacks on the actual phone box outside my house I highly doubt it. I had to force the issue yesterday and make up a story about buying a new phone and testing all my jacks. It seems several of my phones may have been damaged as well, but one of my test phones was under my bed during the storm, so it is highly unlikely that it was damaged.

The cable is still out. They said Friday and so far seem to be keeping the appointment. They may be making me wait longer, but they have dicked me around far less. The lack of the internet is making me stir-crazy. It was sad, I said “Hello” to my girl and ran to her computer. She understood though.

So no internet and no answering machine at the moment. If you are coming down make it tomorrow late. Not 6:30 AM per se, but I’ll be up until 4 AM or so (FFX has me in its clutches, and I’m collecting Haniwa in La Pucelle). Also I’ll be home from about 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM tomorrow. After that it is all Birthday stuff with my family, and after that with my girlfriend. So “Do Not Disturb,” ya know?

Oh, and I bought the R.O.D the TV boxset (or bookset) yesterday so no use getting it for me. If anybody out there wants to get me a gift, the boxset of 24: Season 1 would be appropriate. As I am turning 24 tomorrow and the series rocks my little black socks. Also I’ve only seen the first half of the first season. Noon ends on a cliffhanger and I’m dieing to see what happens to everybody, what with the gunbattle and all.

Oh, and that’s not a hint, its a humerous observation. Nobody has to buy me gifts.

Kristi liked R.O.D by the by, so there is hope for the girl after all. If she likes “Bleach” there may be still more too it. For my birthday, she bought me a sword. Not just any sword, the bona fide sword of my dreams. So eat your heart out other people, I’ve got the best girl in the world, and you can’t have her. Not that any other girls are bad, several of my best friends are of the female persuasion, this one is just the best.
